This means that when planning boat transport from Poland to Australia, BMSB requirements need to be checked before shipping, not only after the vessel arrives at the destination port.
When does the BMSB season apply in Australia?

Seasonal BMSB measures apply to specified goods manufactured in or shipped from risk countries that were loaded onto the vessel during this period.

Does BMSB always mean fumigation?
One method should not be assumed automatically. Australian requirements allow for several accepted treatment methods.

The specific method must meet the requirements of the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry and be carried out in accordance with the required standards.
That’s why the type of treatment shouldn’t be chosen automatically. The vessel and its mode of transport need to be assessed first.

This is one of the most important points when transporting larger vessels to Australia.
Australian regulations also treat goods transported on flat racks and in open-top containers as break bulk.
